Spring Cleanup

Spring CleanupThe Trails Homeowners Association is legally obligated to maintain its surrounding fence, trails and paths, as well as do flood mitigation clearing along No Name Creek which passes through our neighborhood.

Over the years the HOA Board has tried to keep costs down by using our own homeowners to do mowing, weeding, and most other maintanence tasks. This has allowed our HOA to keep our required quarterly fees as low as possible.

The Trails Board thanks all of the volunteers who participated in the 2011 Spring Cleanup!

Typical Cleanup Activities

  • Perimeter fence repair
  • Tree and shrub trimming along the creek
  • Entrance trimming, weeding and cleanup
  • Path to trail maintenance- spreading gravel
  • Open space trash and debris pickup
  • Edge trim and weeding around both bridges

Typical Cleanup Process

  • At the Feb.or March meeting the cleanup date is scheduled and posted.
  • The HOA board discusses what needs to be done and gathers details of needed materials, tools, machines and labor.
  • Dumpsters (one or more) are ordered to be in place before the cleanup day.
  • Board members order and buy the necessary materials, rent equipment and get other things ready.
  • Reminder emails are sent to the homeowners.
  • On the morning of the cleanup, at the defined meeting point, groups form and divide into teams to tackle the varied tasks to be accomplished.
  • Usually there is a larger fence repair team, and then other teams working around the community.
  • Homeowners who do not join a group often work on their own towards needed community projects.
